Bidding Commences On The Entire 1-Of-1 Doernbecher Freestyle XVII Collection

Ever since 2004, Nike has teamed up with the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for the annual Doernbecher Freestyle, a program that gives the hospital’s patients the opportunity to create their very own sneaker. And like the years prior, 2022 features a hand-selected cast of aspiring designers, each giving it their all for the seven different pairs on offer.

Dunks, Air Jordan 5 Lows, and more are all here, each lensed through the stories of every individual. Cidni O’Brien, for example, uses the Air Force 1 Fontanka as a way to celebrate both her love of soccer and the teammates, animals, and family members that were there in her time of need. Moreover, Catalina Vazquez’s take on the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski is equally personal, as it channels her admiration of the Galapagos Islands all while celebrating the changes she’s undergone. And Sam David Phelps, who was born with spina bifida, shows his perseverance and dedication with the LeBron 19, which is dressed with Phelps’ go-to mantra: “Never Back Down.”
