Over the course of its century-old history, Converse has celebrated creators and leaders of all ages, races, genders and industries. In honor of Women’s History Month 2022, the Boston-based institution has launched the “We Are Stronger Together” collection, a footwear and apparel collection for women, by women.
In collaboration with longtime community pact partner, Las Fotos Project, the “One Star Brand” outfitted the Run Star Motion Ox, Chuck 70 and Chuck Taylor All Star silhouettes in a number of styles inspired by wildflowers that grow independently, but thrive collectively. Raw edges, tear-away floral detailing and hits of purple, green and blue work in-tandem to celebrate women.
Photography for the “We Are Stronger Together” capsule (a message that appears on the undersides of each pair’s tongue) was conducted by Thalía Gochez, one of Las Fotos Project’s members. A self-taught Salvadorian Mexican-American photographer and creative director, Goches utilizes her work to amplify the communities with which she identifies. In September 2021, the creative shared her unique perspective via Converse’s ¡Mi Gente, Mi Barrio! campaign, which coincided with Latinx Heritage Month.
