Since its grand debut 25 years ago, the Air Max 95 has set itself apart in sneaker culture due to the pleasing grey gradient of shades. That aesthetic has been stamped into the the history of fashion as it’s been referenced and damn near plagiarized by competing brands both in the footwear industry and not, and it’s that imitation that acts as proof of the Air Max 95s immeasurable influence in culture. While this new Air Max 95 isn’t the OG gradient we’ve come to know and love, we can only help but be reminded of that timeless style through the selection of colors.

Two shades of grey have completely overtaken this latest release, with alternating panels and a monochromatic sole package offering up a two-toned look that’ll go with any outfit. We can argue that an accent color — volt, crimson, or whatever else you prefer — would look solid in this particular style, so perhaps Nike has plans of that moving forward. Finally, the Swoosh at the heel is of the Jewel kind, something we’ve seen more frequently in recent Air Max 95 drops.

Expect a release on Nike. com soon for $170.
