These days, seeing Elephant print on a shoe that’s not the Air Jordan 3 is a rare sight. Even the Point Lane’s nod to the “Black Cement” lacked the pattern, replacing it with black-on-grey speckling instead. But for this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid, the brand is seemingly making an exception, as the silhouette more closely mimics the aforementioned colorway.
Not all is exact, however, as the Elephant print itself lacks the same contrast as its appearance on the AJ3. Grey neutrals dress both the base itself as well as the cracks over top, effectively toning down the pattern across the AJ1 Mid’s toe. And while typically accompanied with a matching heel, this pair forgoes any additional use of the design, opting instead for a textured leather. The blacked out lace unit, suede panels, and nylon tongue are equally simple, much more so than the latter’s red Jumpman.

In other news, the Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon” is releasing on April 9th.
