The Nike SB Dunk High “Mets” and SB Dunk Low “Phillies” is finally on deck for a release on July 14th, just days before the 2022 MLB All-Star Game. Inspired by the heated rivalry between NL East Division foes, this upcoming duet sees classic Mets Away uniform colors and the luscious powder blue and maroon of the Phillies throwback unis covering the SB Dunk High and Low, respectively.
The Mets and Phillies have been long-time rivals, although the two squads never really clashed when it mattered. It’s not very common for two teams in the same division to meet in the Playoffs (the Championship Series would be the only real instance), and sadly for both fanbases, the Mets and Phillies have spent more years in the middle or the bottom of the NL East standings than in actual contention. Thus far this season, the Mets have never given up the top spot in the NL East, while the Phillies sit a handful of games behind while losing their star hitter Bryce Harper to a broken thumb injury.
Months after a leak, the SB Dunk “Mets” ($125) and SB Dunk “Phillies” ($115) will finally see a release on July 14th through Nike SNKRS and skateshops.
Updated July 13th, 2022: SNKRS release postponed to July 26th.
