From cherry blossoms to Mt. Fuji, Japanese influences have been quite common with the Nike Air Max 95 silhouette over the years. The model is indeed a darling in the sneaker scene in the Far East, and soon enough another pair will be added to the collection of must-haves.
While this Air Max 95 appears no different than a modern new colorway, there’s an added detail that suggest a connection to the Far East. On the heel stripe and exposed mid-foot on the sole is a pattern that resembles fish scales — a tapestry quite common in Japanese garments. Furthermore, the upper construction sees an assortment of leather, suede, and a textured leather, while the tongue appears in a rare tumbled leather.
It’s possible that these are part of a mini-capsule, so be prepared to see other Nike classics with the same scaly pattern. Stay tuned for release info.
