On July 19th, the MLB All-Star Game heads to sunny Los Angeles for the annual exhibition the celebrates the game’s best of present and past. Nike has plenty planned for the event, unveiling All-Star Game jerseys as well as the Lunar Cortez baseball cleats for Swoosh athletes that will participate throughout the weekend.
In continuing its support of the Jackie Robinson foundation, Nike will release a special Dunk Low on July 19th on SNKRS, UNDFTD, and select retailers. Robinson, a Los Angeles native himself, broke barriers in the game, but his courage was influential off the diamond as well as his philosophy encouraged society to break boundaries within their own lives. This special Dunk Low highlights an iconic quote: “I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me… All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”
Nike, Inc. is a long-time funder of the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) and has invested nearly $3 million over the last five years ($1 million in FY22) to support its scholars, mentoring & leadership development program and museum. JRF Scholars receive college scholarships over four years, and benefit from a program that includes career guidance, internship and permanent job placement, and more. The Jackie Robinson Museum in NYC will chronicle his trailblazing achievements for the next generation of athletes.
The Nike Dunk Low “Jackie Robinson” will release in adult ($130) and kids ($115) sizes on July 19th, so check back periodically for the store list as it will be updated daily until the official drop.
