Back in 2021, Virgil Abloh helped guide the Air Jordan 2 back into the spotlight. And since, a number of collaborators — from Union LA to A Ma Maniere — have gave the shoe their collaborative blessing, effectively paving the way for the silhouette’s first Retro in a long, long while.
Following word of its return earlier this year, images of the the upcoming Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” (2022) have finally surfaced. And thanks to the efforts of Abloh himself, who modeled his own AJ2 Lows off an actual game-worn pair from the archive, the shape is relatively faithful to the original from 1994. Color and material, too, of course follow suit, as layers of white tumbled leather dress the upper adjacent to pops of red as well as a black midsole, lining, and set of laces.
