Michael Le Sneaker culture has gradually shifted away from the loud, bold, and overbranded releases prominent years back, replacing them with everything from the New Balance 550 to Tom Sachs’ General Purpose Shoe. And while many a collaborator has helped bring this to fruition, none have had as great of an effect as JJJJound, who’ve blatantly indulged in minimalism with every one of their prior works.
The Montreal-based studio — which was once a humble digital mood board 16 years ago — is sticking to simplicity with their newest pair of Reeboks: the NPC II. Originally designed for the tennis courts, the silhouette is largely reminiscent of its appearance in 1985, featuring the signature cupsole and premium white leathers throughout. And alongside stamping their name across the side in gold, JJJJound has created a few different variations, which differ in everything from the stitching to the tread pattern.
For a closer, more detailed look at the JJJJound x Reebok NPC II, check out the imagery below. These are set to hit JJJJound.com on July 21st; a wider, global release is to follow on August 5th via Reebok.com and select retailers.
