Hot Wheels — iconic toy brand, and acceptable nickname for fire footwear. Paul George’s Nike PG 6 has collaborated with the Mattel brand to bring a hot rod thematic to the signature shoe, adding flaming Swoosh logos, checkerboard prints, and a gradient fade to the silhouette for an American Muscle finish.

While this marks the first partnership between the toy car brand and Paul George, there’s no denying the influence the brand had on PG as a youth. In fact, it’s had lasting, nostalgia-driven effect on a lot of today’s athletes and creators as its also appeared in a collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon on his adidas Adventure Superturf. Our favorite detail on this PG 13 has to be the flaming hot rod logos, appearing on the Nike check as well as Clippers star’s jersey number on the medial side.

A release date for the Nike PG 6 “Hot Wheels” is unknown, but stay tuned for updates on availablility.
