Brought back earlier this year in a number of inline colorways, the adidas ADIMATIC — a skate shoe that first hit the scene in 1996 — is currently enjoying a small resurgence. And after collaborating with Jamal Smith this past May, the silhouette has caught the attention of a longstanding member of the Three Stripes family: Human Made.
Founded by none other than NIGO, the legend responsible for creating A BATHING APE, Human Made has joined forces with adidas many a time before, bringing their playful slogans and penchant for bright colors to classics like the Superstar, Campus, Rivalry Low, and more.
Much of that above-mentioned energy has been toned down for these three ADIMATICS, whose palettes are predominantly comprised of muted tones. One pair in particular, though, opts for a pop of orange, applying said shade to the suede mudguard of a construction replete with “Off White” and “Core Black” paneling. Greys and blues make up the next option, while the last opts for a militaristic arrangement helmed by “Dust Green.” And despite their differences in looks, all three share the same branding: big stripes dress the side next to heart-shaped cutouts, while the Japanese streetwear label’s signature logo marks the heel and insole by way of embroidery and screenprint, respectively.
