The Nike Air Force 1 Mid has historically been ridiculed by the sneaker space’s gatekeepers, but it’s turned some skeptics into believers over the last seven months thanks to a healthy mix of retros, new styles and special collaborations.

As autumn inches closer, the mid-top take on Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design from 1982 has emerged in a medley of black and grey hues as part of what seems to be a Halloween costume. Smooth leather comes together with suede panels to create a textured arrangement despite the rather understated color palette. Profile swooshes, “AIR” branding at the lateral heel, and “NIKE” logos on the top of the tongue, sock-liners and upper heel all opt for a “spooky” style accomplished by fang-like edges, ghoul-reminiscent shapes and cobb-web reminiscent finishes. The scary Air Force 1, however, delivers more than one treat given its up-cycled sole unit, creating an eco-friendlier offering than most other options on the market.

Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch before 2022 ends.
