Over the course of the last few years, Nike has spared no expense for the return of many a much-beloved sneaker, from the Air Tuned Max to the Air Kukini. And for the last half of 2022, the brand is focusing their attention on the Air Ship, which is due to return on August 26th courtesy of A Ma Maniere.

To celebrate the release of the collaboration, A Ma Maniere has teamed up with the Turner Brothers for the production of a short film, entitled “Do It In The Dark.” The story parallels the origins of the Air Ship, all the while tying in the Black and Brown community’s struggles to constantly prove themselves in the face of doubt, adversity, and systemic issues.

Limited to 2,300 pairs and individually numbered, the A Ma Maniere x Nike Air Ship is an ode to the original sneaker that MJ wore before donning the Air Jordan 1. Here, James Whitner and team have stuck to a simple, OG-inspired colorway, with “Royal” accents dressing the tongue label as well as the construction’s Swoosh, collar, and outsole. The rest of the shoe, from the midsole to the leather upper, is cast in white neutrals, matching the “Nike Air” printed onto the upper heel.

Accompanied by an apparel collection, these Air Ships are slated to release on August 26th via AMaManiere.com at a retail of $140 USD. To give local communities a chance to purchase, in-store raffles will also be held at all TWG locations will take place between August 22nd and August 24th.
