Michael Le In this era of sneaker culture, a release’s worth is determined entirely by exclusivity. But unlike most collaborations, the Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe goes against this very mindset, as it’s expected to stick around for the foreseeable future. And come very soon — the beginning of September, to be exact — the silhouette will offer its second colorway, the “Archive”.
Easing its way into perennial status, the General Purpose Shoe’s second coming is much more colorful than its predecessor. Alongside pops of orange, which are present across the tongue label and pull-tabs, the titular yellow runs throughout the upper, highlighting the shoe’s mesh and suede fixtures. Then, white Swooshes are painted across the side, situated just between a matching lace unit and an off-white midsole.
For another look at the Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe “Archive,” see below. As announced by Sachs himself, the colorway is to release through nikecraft.com on September 1st before a global launch the following day.
In other news, official images of the CdG Air Max 97 have recently surfaced.
