Holding less than a handful of collaborations since their divulgence into the realm of sneakers with the playful Nike Blazer Mid in 2019, Frog Skateboards is returning to a familiar silhouette for its latest alliance in the footwear industry.
Having been nearly two years since they ran concert with Vans in their take on the Slip-On silhouette, the New York City based board brand is this time obliging in the opposing model they graced in their January 2021 rendition with both a rusted brown and dark green proposition of the classic Vans Old Skool.
The darker shaded option’s all-brown heavy canvas sidewall and suede overlays don’t clash as much as embolden the upper’s silicone charms shaped in hearts, stars, synonymous frog emblems, crescent moons and music notes. The updated Old Skool’s equivalent gum waffle outsole is upgraded for 2022 amidst a rubber black outsole that dawns a green “OFF THE WALL” branding. The latter’s “Frog Green” colorway follows suit in the placement of the upper palette while indulging in a white midsole featuring a stripe of green.
