“Gym Red” Chenille Swooshes Animate This Nike Dunk High

“Gym Red” Chenille Swooshes Animate This Nike Dunk High

The late Peter Moore changed the sneaker industry when he designed the Nike Dunk High in 1985 as the model has become part of the cultural zeitgeist over the last several decades.

Recently, the made-for-basketball silhouette emerged in an eye-catching ensemble coupling bold “Gym Red” with vibrant “Yellow Ochre” for a look sure to turn heads during any time of year. And while the aforementioned hues take on a tried-and-proven arrangement across the Nike Dunk‘s smooth leather upper (with “White” taking over the base layer), they’re unquestionably overshadowed by the chenille material that appears via the profile swooshes. The design choice isn’t so strange when considering the sneaker’s heritage as a college basketball staple. The fuzzy material, then, becomes reminiscent of letterman jackets. Lastly, the upcoming take on Moore’s Air Jordan 1-like design features “Gum Medium Brown” outsoles for a fan-favorite touch.

No firm Nike SNKRS launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
