Jovani Hernandez Despite an increase in the number of reports that the Air Jordan 1 is “sitting” at retailers, the silhouette continues to form an important part of the NIKE, Inc. lineup of products. Ahead of the year’s end, an in-hand look at the sneaker in a compelling “True Blue” colorway has surfaced.
Some netizens have already likened the “True Blue,” “White” and “Cement Grey”-clad proposition to what’s historically graced the Air Jordan 1 Mid, but the color combination has graced footwear from Team Jumpman with much more heritage than that. Base layers opt for a “colorless” arrangement that set the stage for rich blue contrast around the forefoot, along the tongue and via the profile swooshes. Lower heel panels and ankle flaps deviate in a dark grey suede that evokes both the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” and Air Jordan 13 “Flint” from 1988 and 1998, respectively. Underfoot, the sole unit favors an understated makeup that further allows the upper’s titular tone to revel in the spotlight, as “White” and “Cement Grey” round out the pair.
