Unlike their LA-based counterpart — who has crafted several releases with Jordan Brand and Nike — Union Tokyo has seen little opportunity to craft collaborative sneakers of their own. The storefront has, however, maintained a longstanding relationship with Converse’s own Japanese outpost, and together they’re about to release an understated take on the CX-Pro SK OX.
Compared to its stateside equivalent, Converse Skateboarding over in Japan purveys an entirely different range of silhouettes. The CX-Pro SK OX, whose design borrows inspiration from the much older CX PRO 250, is one of their newest additions. Here, Union Tokyo has dressed said shoe in an understated colorway, which sees grey suedes meet white-colored Star Chevron logos, cap toes, laces, and midsoles. The retailer’s signature yellow, then, appears by way of the “UN/LA tag, the outsole, and the additional laces.
