Michael Le Jessica Gonsalves, co-founder of NYC-based vintage store Procell, is headlining the ASICS Collective’s fourth collaborative effort. The first and only member to select the GEL-Nimbus 9, Gonsalves is using the opportunity to both celebrate her family roots as well as indulge her inherited passion for sailing.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an iconic brand like ASICS,” said Jessica Gonsalves. “This shoe represents the vision and inspiration I hoped to share when I learned I would be designing my first shoe collaboration.”
The Jessica Gonsalves x ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 veils its luxury behind a simple and extremely subtle color palette, playing into the collaboration’s overarching themes of hidden, buried treasure. By way of its off-white palette and translucent overlays, the pair mimics these various valuables — pearls, most of all. Co-branding, then, completes the package, spelling out its creator’s name in blue along the left sockliner.
Made in part of recycled materials, Jessica Gonsalves’ GEL-Nimbus 9 will be available first at Procell on October 22nd. A wider, global launch will follow on October 28th, making its way to both ASICS.com and select retailers.
