Jovani Hernandez The New Balance 990 series has been celebrating its 40th anniversary all year. Simultaneously, the New England institution has been honoring its presence in Flimby, Cumbria, U.K. with propositions like a newly-surfaced grey and navy NB991.
Premium pig suede reprises its traditional role across the upper, sitting atop breathable mesh and supple leather overlays. The aforementioned components indulge in a predominantly greyscale arrangement, although dark blue accents land on the top of the tongue, forefoot and underneath the collar. Underfoot, the sole unit opts for a standard off-white and white midsole, while the tried-and-proven ABZORB units across the sole unit bring some of the upper’s navy flair down below.
