“Here they come from behind the net…it’s the Flying V!”
One of the most contentious and heated rivalries in all of fictional sports is undoubtedly between the Mighty Ducks vs. Hawks, the two young hockey teams from the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks. From that epic sports movie came several sequels and eventually a Disney+ series, but the cultural value from that first flick thirty years ago is what keeps the nostalgia alive.
In 2022, adidas is pinning the Ducks against the Hawks off the ice via two Ultra Boost 1.0 DNA release. Each dons the signature colors of the uniforms of the young hockey teams; the Ducks features bright green, yellow, and dark navy, with a D-5 logo pressed into the suede toe-box, while the Hawks features the sleeker blend of black, blue and silver. Both feature custom insoles with Disney co-branding.
Currently available overseas, the adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 DNA “Mighty Ducks” Pack is set to release stateside on adidas.com soon.
