When the NBA Playoffs roll around, Trae Young assumes his role as the League’s super villain, enacting three-point barrages from every panel of the hardwood while slicing up defenders off pick and rolls with ease. Since silencing Madison Square Garden a few postseasons ago, Ice Trae has fully embodied the monicker, now using his villainous persona as the design inspiration for the latest iteration of the adidas Trae Young 2.
After debuting the silhouette in its “Solar Green” ensemble alongside a full slate of two-toned team-ready options, a murky black and white ensemble now extends across the pair. The Adilette-inspired lateral Three Stripes of the forefoot express a crisp white outfit, color matched along its mesh vamp before the remaining real estate of the sock-like upper endures an opposing jet-black treatment. Anchoring the dominantly employed pitch-dark shade through its suede overlays, pull tabs and golden embossed heel, a wavy textile-matched panel above the midfoot’s sole unit disparately indulges in a light grey shade. Underfoot, the BOOST cushioning unit and ridged outsole conclude the silhouette by proffering the upper’s seldom inclusion of white in a near-clad fashion.
