2022 marked the 40th Anniversary of New Balance’s Flimby factory, where much of their MADE in UK catalog is manufactured. And in celebration of the occasion, the footwear brand has crafted several limited edition colorways, the last of which — a 991 inspired by the Donkey Jacket, a mainstay of British workwear — is scheduled to release in less than a week.
Boasting a quality you’d expect from New Balance’s MADE in UK line-up, this 991 conjures to mind images of classic workwear with its material composition. Alongside incorporating premium leathers — which wrap the shoe from the toe through to the heel in a dark black finish — the upper swaps out its mesh inserts for Harris Tweed, a slight deviation from the Melton Wool originally used for the Donkey Jacket.

In other news, the New Balance 550 Vintage Indigo is rising up the ranks of this week’s most popular stories.
