Jovani Hernandez Since its inception, adidas has been obsessed with the future of sport. Although the German institution surely has several projects “under wraps,” it’s shared its latest foray into the future by way of the archival Supernova Cushion 7.
Prepped in two styles that explore the question, “How would running sneakers look like on another planet?” the adidas Originals style from the early 2000s joins the “Cosmic Way Runners” collection in “Craft Ochre” and “Legend Ink” color combinations, just like previously-seen takes on the adiFOM Q. Hand-dyed and stone washed treatments across the upper and sole unit, respectively, mimic the wear-and-tear the old school runners would likely receive on Mars, Neptune or other extraterrestrial environments. Sock-liners reference the solar system, while accents on the toe box and throughout the ADIWEAR outsole further nod to the shoes’ cosmic concept.
