In the mid 1980s, Reebok introduced the “BB” line-up, which was comprised of some of the market’s “most disruptive court sneakers.” And now four decades later, one of footwear range’s icons, the BB4000 II, has officially made its return, dressing up in a number of heritage-inspired colorways. And for its next collection — entitled “Changing of the Guard” — the model is tapping into the legacies of both Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson.
Made up of three different styles, the BB4000 II “Changing of the Guard” pack celebrates key moments in the careers of both the above-mentioned athletes. The “White/Black/Blue,” for starters, takes us back to Shaq’s rookie days, flaunting the colors signature to the Orlando Magic. Reebok, then, pays homage to Iverson with the next two colorways, “Grey/Navy/White” and “Red/Blue/White.” The latter conjures to mind images of the A.I.’s time in Philly, while the former nods to his alma mater.
For a closer look at the entire “Changing of the Guard” collection, see below. All three pairs will be available beginning December 22nd via select retailers as well as Reebok.com.
