Throughout the past few years, Jordan Brand’s women’s-exclusive propositions have aired on the side of chunky midsoles and risen constructions to mirror that of the industry’s widely-regarded platform silhouettes. While its’ Air Jordan 1 High Elevate offering will still be in rotation, the Beaverton-based brand is set to return its women’s-centric efforts to their originally grounded construction, such as this Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG that’s experimenting with Nigerian influences.
Coated in Off-White hued leathers throughout the near entirety of the upper, first looks at the pair see the neutral-toned effort pair with faded yellow hues – which proffer a slight cream undertone – across the tongue’s trim, sock liner, winged ankle insignia and tread underfoot. Further treating its heel counter and upper collar overlay to the colorless tone, its presiding panel underneath enjoys a boisterous Naija-inspired woven textile treated in cream and brown contrasts in tandem with its midfoot Swoosh for a seldom yet effective finish to the neutral operation.
While we sit tight on further release details, enjoy a first look at the upcoming women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Vibrations of Naija” in the meantime.
