Jennifer Ford opening up Premium Goods in her hometown of Houston in 2004 out of a desire to bring a boutique shopping experience to her fellow Texans. Since then, the locale has mostly kept to itself, but it’s launching 2023 with two pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 Low.
Inspired by Ford’s time working in jewelry, the upcoming styles blend textures, artisanal techniques, and elegant color combinations atop Bruce Kilgore’s 41-year-old design. The results are two presidential sneakers that celebrate timeless luxury through the lens of an independent shop in Houston’s Rice Village. Much of the shoes’ uppers is kept relatively straightforward (although the materials are anything but standard), but the profile swooshes introduce a beaded arrangement to the mix, as do the upper heel panels. The shop’s name is printed on the tongue labels, further cementing its place in the sneaker space. Underfoot, sole units are kept simple, allowing for the details up-top to revel in the spotlight.
Enjoy campaign imagery of the duo ahead, and find pairs available via Premium Goods’ webstore and Nike SNKRS on Jan. 20.
In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined” is set to launch in March.
