Following its 35th anniversary, the Nike Air Trainer 1 has proffered a selective yet efficient revitalization with a slate of all-new casts and compositions. Continuing the late-80s aesthetic with refreshed outlooks, a tonal ensemble fit with vibrant “Wheat” accents lays claim to the Bo Jackson-endorsed silhouette.
From the Burnished effect laid across the Nike Air Max CB 94 to the all-out effort expressed across the Air Huarache Craft, the widely-attributed “Wheat” tone receives a dominant placement across the training silhouettes forefoot strap, presiding overlay and heel counter. Pairing its mudguard and midfoot panels in a tan-treated leather, a disparate near-blank “Sail” envelops the canvas tooling of the pair’s base layer and tongue construction in stark difference to the silhouette’s typical clad-leather build. Contrasting the neutral-harkened aesthetic with jet-black Swooshes and eye stays, a vintage gum tread conjoins with the initial “Wheat” placement underfoot for an OG interpolation.
