It’s been 26 years since the Chicago Bulls last touched down in Paris, and with the next slate of Global Games taking place in the French capitol today, Zach Lavine and New Balance coordinated with the overseas trip to announce the Boston-based brand’s latest installation in their catalog of on-court technology, the New Balance Fresh Foam BB.
“I have been working with the New Balance design team on this launch since I first joined the brand, so I am really excited to be able to talk about it and wear it on court,” Lavine said in a press release.
Infused with the brand’s running silhouettes lauded Fresh Foam cushioning system underfoot, a molded TPU cage on its lateral side delivers enhanced stability for softened cuts and movements. In stark difference to the raised details found on the New Balance TWO WXY V3, the Fresh Foam’s upper instead harkens a lightweight, one-piece FitWeave upper.
Debuting the colorful homage to Paris’ Rue Cremieux – a singular block of titular buildings and abstract architecture – today during the Bulls contest against the Detroit Pistons, the latter ensemble enjoys a blissful wash of light blue while shades of lime green and peach orange outfit the heel counter and tongue respectively. Titled “Virtual”, the secondary proposition indulges in a jet-black base layer while hits of bright red and blue illuminate the inspiration taken from the digital extension of the game.
Set to release in its “Paris” composition tomorrow, January 20th for a retail price of $130, the “Virtual” colorway is scheduled to release next month on February 3rd. In the meantime, enjoy official imagery of the New Balance Fresh Foam BB below.
