Sneaker News The Air Jordan 2 holds the peculiar distinction for having the least amount of original colorways in Air Jordan history. Delivered in just two colorways of white/black/red and white/red/grey on both the Mid and Low, the Air Jordan 2‘s run was rather unceremonious the first time around, so much so that Nike has to rethink its approach to retain Jordan’s interest. In came Tinker Hatfield and the radical Air Jordan 3, and the rest is history.
Despite not being among the peak of the litter of Jordan’s personal favorites, the II has garnered quite a following among sneakerheads for its uniquely simple design, and over the last year and da half the 1987 model has been regularly available as part of Jordan Brand’s current Retro product line. First re-launching by way of collaborations with Off-White and global retailers such as Titan22 of the Philippines and Two18 of Detroit, the Air Jordan 2 has entered its in-line phase, with several colorways and styles on the ledger for 2023.
Set to release in Holiday 2023 is a timeless “Bred” colorway. This classic concoction utilizes the familiar recipe off Black, Fire Red, and Cement Grey — a faultless and low-risk array of colors. This mock-up suggests a nearly all-black upper with Fire Red accents and a grey outsole — a colorway that could’ve easily existed in past eras.
