Michael Le Zion Williamson is a big fan of anime, his love of Naruto manifesting itself in his product with Jordan Brand. But just one official collaboration was clearly not enough to adequately express his passion for the series, as it was recently revealed that the Pelicans Forward would be delivering another collection in partnership with the Seventh Hokage.
Earlier this month, official images of the Naruto x Air Jordan 37 boiled to the surface, its colorway directly inspired by the protagonist himself as well as his signature Rasengan. This newly-revealed Jordan Zion 2, in contrast, looks to the character’s relationships — specifically, his bond with Sasuke.
Friends turned enemies turned friends again, the two clash once more via the Jordan Zion 2’s uppers. The colorway makes nods to Sasuke and Naruto across the medial and lateral profile, respectively, displaying the tones signature to each character. Elsewhere, the references continue via the graphic elements along the heel and insole: the former features the symbols of the Uzumaki and Uchiha clan, while the latter flaunts Sasuke’s Rinnegan and the eyes of Naruto’s Nine Tails Sage Mode.
