The 2023 WNBA Free Agency period was one for the books, with a mass amount of star-studded talent opting for fresh new sceneries and revamped squads. While Candace Parker chose to team up with A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum out in Las Vegas, PUMA athlete Breanna Stewart left the rainy Seattle weather for the concrete jungle of Brooklyn, now suiting up for the New York Liberty.
Already boasting a handful of both titular and team-ready colorways, the final PUMA Stewie 1 colorway – according to the newly acquired Liberty forward on Twitter – is set to release in an homage to Stewart’s alma mater of Uconn.
Securing four-straight championships for Geno and the Huskies, Stewart’s collegiate accolades are near overwhelming, achieving Player of the Year honors from the Associated Press three times, AAC twice and the John R. Wooden Award. As such, the honorary PUMA Stewie 1 dress in a white, blue and red color palette in a nod to her collegiate dominance. Reserving a majority of its perforated upper for a clean white base layer, bright red accents line the PUMA sidestripe across the forefoot while the heel counter and split sole unit enjoys a luminous wash of blue.
While we await further release details, enjoy a first look at the PUMA Stewie 1 “UConn” below in the meantime.
