Nike Cruises The Pacific Coast With The Air Max 1 “The Bay”

While we await the highly-anticipated return of the Air Max 1 featuring its originally-sized big bubbles, The Swoosh is simultaneously coordinating the potential beginnings of a new inline collection. Cobbling together a myriad of textiles, the latest Nike Air Max 1 comes inspired by the sights and sounds of the west coast and a fictional road trip from the Beaverton-based brand.

Pictured in grade school sizing, a winterized ensemble inspired by pacific coastal scenery ensues through crisp white hues landing on the canvas underlays, leather mid-foot panel, nylon tongue construction and laces. Accented by the pair’s suede-treated overlays dawning ever-so-light grey hues, fuzzy stitching harkens the various wildlife visible on a road trip while working its way down the vamp and finishing along the tongue surrounding its “The Bay” branding. Injecting a vibrant personality through the embroidered red and gold mid-foot Swooshes mimicking a fallen feather, tumbled leather heel counters work in unison with the medial side check’s chosen reptile texture. Accompanied by metallic interstate hang tags and Nike Coast license plates coating the insoles, the traveling ensemble concludes with a staple gum tread underfoot for the journey.
