Jovani Hernandez The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 spent several years in obscurity before receiving a co-sign from Montreal’s JJJJound. Since August 2022, however, the old running shoe has emerged in stylish ensembles like a newly-surfaced “Moonrock” pair for women.
Now produced under the “ASICS SportsStyle” banner, the GEL-Kayano 14 is no longer than brand’s marquee stability model. Instead, the design – which debuted in 2008 – has taken over the “dad shoe” trend, delivering retro flair to those with an affinity for “ugly,” chunky sneakers.
The latest take on the 14th GEL-Kayano sees white and silver components throughout the upper. Shades of the titular “Moonrock” hue appear via logos on the sidewalls and accents around the collar. Furthermore, the light brown color lands on the mid-foot shank underneath, while a rosy hue animates the visible GEL cushioning across the midsole.
