From Homer Simpson to Alice In Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat, the iconic adidas Stan Smith has begun dipping its leather toe into the world of pop culture, resurfacing with compelling inspirations derived from our favorite animated characters and cartoons. For its next mainstream team-up, the staple silhouette has taken a quick trip to Japan and returned a fan favorite of Hello Kitty.
From the cat’s fuzzy white fur to their iconic big head, the worldwide sensation has consumed the near entirety of the low-top model. Casting a dominant majority of the pair’s supple leather tooling in a bright white treatment, contrasted jet-black branding lands along the mid-foot reading “Hello Kitty And Friends” while the bright pink embroidered trefoil logo sits amongst a sea of hairy white fur. In a lasting homage to the beloved character, a collage of graphics fill the sock liner while Hello Kitty’s head renders atop the lacing structure as a storable pouch.
