Over the past handful of years, Nike has taken its fictional Air Max Day (March 26) as an opportunity to debut a new model in its storied visible Air lineup. This year will be no different as the Nike Air Max Pulse has surfaced via official channels.
Cushioned by a 270-degree Air unit, the silhouette bears resemblance to the ever-popular Air Max 270 from 2018. The upper, however, features a different layout and mix of materials, evoking a few more design elements from popular Air Max models of the past.
The sneaker’s base layer opts for a breathable mesh that also lands above the aforementioned Air bubble. The bottom-half of the upper favors an extended mudguard that’s reinforced at the heel with a plastic clip. Branding on the spine take on a 1970s-reminiscent style, as does the “air” text on the outsole. Lastly, the traction underneath the forefoot and mid-foot harken back to the waffle patterned outsoles of Nike footwear’s origins.
Enjoy a detailed look at the pair ahead, as you wait for a nike.com launch for $150 USD.
