Jared Ebanks While the sneaker community awaits the return of the famed Nike Air Max 1 ’86 featuring its iconic “Big Bubble”, the Beaverton brand is simultaneously anchoring the Tinker Hatfield design in a versatile range of outfits. Recently, the inaugural silhouette that introduced the world to visible Max Air came packed to the brim with an onslaught of disparate materials and textiles.
Cured and dominated by the dark navy denim coating its mid-foot overlay and full-length mudguard, crisp white cross stitching combined with pastel yellow threading provides hand-crafted touches throughout. Applying a raised textured finish to the blank white underlays, woven animal print overlays fill the vamp in a cheetah association while the fur of a leopard curtails the heel counter. Rope laces, metallic eyelets and tan leather tongue tabs add further suave embellishments to the already richly textured option accompanied by oriental-inspired silks which peek through the embroidered yellow and red heel tab. Underfoot, a simplistic clad white sole unit brights a lightened and toned-down conclusion to the premium-infused ensemble.
