Michael Le Jay Chou’s PHANTACi has been in and around the sneaker industry for over a decade, previously joining forces with the likes of Nike, New Balance, and Reebok. PUMA, too, is a close friend of the Taiwanese boutique. And after quite a while since their last collaboration, the two are finally reuniting atop one of the footwear brand’s most iconic silhouettes: the Suede.
Though the lines of the original are largely intact, the PHANTACi x PUMA Suede does take a number of liberties with the icon’s build, removing it almost entirely of its namesake material. Only the Formstripe features a suede construction, which is highlighted in the same hot pink shade as the packaging. The rest of the upper is comprised of a premium, navy-colored leather as well as gilded branding and a matching lateral zipper.
The PHANTACi x PUMA Suede will be available on April 8th via PHANTACi’s retail locations and phantacico.com.
