Amidst the silhouette’s integration into the skate scene, 2006 saw the heralded Nike Dunk dress in a mid-top construction obsessed over by both the skating and sneaker ecosystem. 14 years later, the resized tooling has since returned in a bevy of disparate toolings, now pairing a clad neutral upper with the mid-2000s staple gum tread.
Falling in line with its contemporaries’ shift away from holistically leather structures, the base layer indulges in a wash of canvas textiles whereas the surrounding overlays render their typical tumbled leather appearance. Given the pair’s anchoring in two disparate fabrics, the silhouette’s “Light Orewood Brown” tincture assimilates in a slightly more vibrant finish atop the cloth vamp and mid-foot whereas more muted shades consume the aforementioned panels. Illuminated by the cream-white midsole and mid-foot Swoosh, the sole unit underfoot harkens back to its skate scene roots with a classic gum outsole in conclusion.
While we await further release details, in the meantime enjoy official images of the Nike Dunk Mid “Light Orewood Brown” below.
