Nike’s Color of the Month program has been pivotal to the Air Force 1 Low.
In the mid-1980s, the initiative began to bring attention to Bruce Kilgore’s nearly-discontinued design. Over the last year, the program has been revived in order to celebrate the Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary with original and new styles.
With spring underway, the latest offering from the heralded series enjoys a straightforward white and red color scheme. The high-quality leather upper opts for a mostly “colorless” arrangement, while swooshes deviate in ruby flair. Furthermore, the profile logos get a jewel finish, a detail that debuted on the Air Force 1 Low in 1997. Branding on the tongue label and Achilles’ Heel panel also favor a rich red makeup, falling in line with Color of the Month releases from the past. A semi-translucent outsole and “Since 1982”-branded toothbrush round out the special edition shoe.
