The adidas Stan Smith Helps Turn Pinocchio Into A Real… Sneaker

The adidas Stan Smith Helps Turn Pinocchio Into A Real… Sneaker

Thanks to their official partnership with Disney, adidas has been able to tap into the nostalgia of multiple generations. From The Little Mermaid to Lilo & Stitch, the Three Stripes has borrowed from several of the media conglomerate’s most beloved franchises, bringing their iconic characters to silhouettes equally as prolific. And after almost eight decades since its cinematic debut, Pinocchio is the next up to receive its own collaborative sneaker — specifically, its own Stan Smith.

Disney and adidas typically play it safe with their collaborative sneakers, and the Stan Smith “Pinocchio” is certainly no exception. While the character may replace the left-side portrait of Stan Smith himself, there’s little else that directly references his journey to becoming a real boy. With the exception of the stitched stripes and the heel tab — the latter of which is uncut only along the lateral side — the shoe retains its usual shape and construction, dressing itself up in off-white leathers and burnt red linings.

Packaged in a box stamped with the image of Pinocchio himself, these Disney-cosigned Stan Smiths should be hitting adidas.com as well as select retailers soon. As we await word on an official release date, take a look at the collaboration via the official images ahead.
