As March was coming to a close, SHOES MASTER previewed Ronnie Fieg‘s next collaborative endeavor: a set of New Balance 998s. And after a couple weeks of anticipation, the KITH founder has finally revealed the details of this upcoming effort, which was designed in partnership with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
Alongside celebrating the silhouette’s 35th Anniversary, the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 998 “Broadacre City” pays homage to the Frank Lloyd Wright concept of the same name. In short, Wright’s idea proposes a somewhat radical, more self-sufficient way of living, one where every family was provided one acre of land on which to establish a home and cultivate food. Fieg’s interpretation of the legendary architect’s work are purely aesthetic in execution, as the two 998s are colored in way reminiscent of the physical model’s buildings and lush landscape.
Rolling out in a unique way, the New Balance 998 “Broadacre City” will see three different releases. The collaboration will be available first at KITH Tokyo on April 14th before seeing a second drop on April 15th at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s on-site experience inside Taliesin West (12621 N Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd in Scottsdale, Arizona). Pairs will then finally be available through all KITH shops as well as online on April 17th.
In other news, a first look at the 2023 Union Air Jordan 1 was shared earlier this morning.
