The Nike Air Max Plus is quietly celebrating its 25th anniversary and recently, the Sean McDowell design dressed for the occasion in a decadent collection of “Sail” and burgundy hues.
Akin to the metallic red and gold finish applied to Iron Man’s arc reactor-powered suits, the staple racing construction from the late ’90s looks to a simplistic “Sail” base layer to kick things off, followed closely by “Team Red” hues enveloping the leather tongue tab, nylon collar, laces and presiding fasteners. Dipping the first half of its recurring TPU overlays in the aforementioned tone, a warm vanilla gradient ensues at the bottom half bleeding onto the neutral-based sole unit underfoot. Comprised of a medley of tans throughout, the full-length Max Air unit reveals further golden embellishments in tandem with the pair’s finishing duo of Swooshes.
While release date information hasn’t been shared just yet, in the meantime enjoy official imagery of the Nike Air Max Plus “Sail/Team Red” below.
In other news from underneath the Nike Lifestyle umbrella, the Air Force 1 “NAI-KE” recently revealed a forest green-accented effort.
