For the better part of two decades, Yohji Yamamoto and the 3-Stripes have been melding the German sportswear brand’s performance ethos with the Japanese designer’s avant-garde design. Following the two entities’ debut of their most experimental proposition to date in early March, the adidas Y-3 ITOGO has returned in a summer-ready ensemble boasting bright blue hues.
While the model’s $600 price tag is certainly something to gawk at, the silhouette’s construction is not without its reasons as it boasts only five essential components; a PRIMEKNIT textile upper, elastic strap and a rubber cupsole while either Lightstrike or BOOST cushioning can be inserted within the interchangeable midsoles. Eliminating the use of glue entirely, the clad-blue upper comes stitched to the “Cream White” outsole which bears Yamamoto’s staple jet-black signature underfoot.
Currently available via the store list below for a retail price of $600, in the meantime enjoy official imagery of the adidas Y-3 ITOGO “Blue” below.
For more in the realm of Y-3 releases, Yamamoto’s performance running collection for the summer is releasing tomorrow, May 12th.
