Over the years, adidas has released handfuls of its designs in clever ensembles. For its latest cheeky offering, the Three Stripes has looked to Mexico, prepping three “shell-toes” inspired by “conchas.”
A play on the Spanish word for “shell,” the latest adidas Superstar pays homage to the pan dulce that lines the metal trays in countless bakeries across Mexico. Strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate flavors are brought to sneaker form via “Icy Pink,” “Wonder White,” and “Cardboard” colors, respectively. The bulk of each adidas Originals offering features terrycloth material clad in uniform makeovers. Elsewhere, profile 3-Stripes opt for darker tones of each pair’s titular tone. Yet, the most iconic detail on the special release lives at the toe: the “conchapatos” enjoy a crust-like finish at the forefoot, faithfully recreating conchas Mexicanas. Lastly, sole units boast their traditional build, but further reference the aforementioned flavors.
Enjoy detailed look at all three pairs ahead, and find the trio via adidas.com.mx right now for approximately $135 USD.
