Ahead of Ionescu and the New York Liberty’s season-opener on Friday, up-close imagery of an all-new Nike Sabrina 1 colorway has been revealed featuring a pastel-infused palette.
Boasted as the Beaverton brand’s first signature unisex collection, the Sabrina 1 is packed to the brim with an arsenal of the banner’s iconized on-court toolings. Featuring full-length React cushioning, a top-loaded Zoom Air unit at the forefoot and a mid-foot band system securing the foot with lockdown cables, the low-cut model rivals the energy return and responsiveness achieved within the heralded GT Cut lineup.
Initially announced via a “Photon Dust” ensemble, Nike’s prominent connection with its signature athletes shines through the pictured pair’s intricate faded yellow embroidery strewn about the forefoot that nods to the All-Star’s Romanian heritage. From the engineered mesh base layer to the nubuck upper tongue and heel foxing, the remaining amount of real estate is reserved for a dominant deployment of faint lilac shades contrasted by a pitch-black mid-foot Swoosh, tread, collar lining and tongue tab logos. Elsewhere, the heel’s dotted lowercase “i” and tongue overlay enjoys a quick sandy departure before the the heel’s cushioning system receives a seldom gradient finish.
