Nike Korea Crafts An Air Max 1 ’86 “World Make”

Japan may be credited as the mecca of sneaker culture, but they’re not the only Asian country with a love of the game. Korea is equally as influential — and not just in regards to music — as names and boutiques the likes of G-Dragon and Kasina have received their very own collaborative kicks. Nike’s operations overseas have put in quite a bit of work as well, and in honor of 2023, they’ll be delivering what seems to be an exclusive take on the Air Max 1 ’86.

Clad in the model’s signature big bubble, the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “World Make” features a unique, multi-material assembly. Underneath its tumbled leather overlays and trims, the pair features both a woven textile as well as robust hemp, which dress the toe box/collar and quarter/heel, respectively. Black piping, then, wraps around the entire shoe, matching not only the eyelets and branding but also the stamp on the insole that reads as follows: “Designed for sport. Crafted for life. World Make.”
