Michael Le Despite having a solid start to the year — teaming up with not only Ronnie Fieg but also mita sneakers — the GEL-LYTE III has since slowed down on the release front. But with Summer finally here, ASICS is now adding two new colorways to the roster: “Arctic Sky” and “Simply Taupe.”
Making up what is essentially an unofficial collection, these GEL-LYTE IIIs apply two very different palettes to the same gradient-style color blocking. On one pair, the suede panels fade from a dark to light tan, paralleling the pink-to-white finish of the midsole just below. And thanks to the hits of light blue — which mark both the adjacent branding and laces — there lies a throughline to the accompanying colorway, whose construction is entirely made up of cool tones.
