Jared Ebanks Two years removed from its 20th anniversary, the New Balance 991 continues to dress in a compelling range of styles thanks to its recurring Made In UK banner. Imbued with premium textures derived from the brand’s England manufacturing facilities, the archival racing solution from the Y2K era now receives a plush grape composition.
Introduced via a monochrome background, crisp white hues assume the mesh base layer while complimentary strips of “Alloy” attribute the stitched leather overlays and tongue tab. Contrasting shades of black consume the nubuck heel counter and tread underfoot, bringing a close to the greyscale undertones strewn throughout. Elsewhere, the model’s mainstay treatment of “Grape Juice” fills the velvety suede overlays that shine amongst the latter’s relatively curtailed canvas.
