Michael Le Out of Nike’s entire collaborative family, few are as close to the top as Drake. And after founding his very own Swoosh-sponsored sub-label, NOCTA, the artist has released a drove of compelling footwear: the Hot Step, the Air Force 1 “CLB,” and even a set of co-branded Swim Fins. Mr. Graham has no plans of slowing down in 2023, ushering in what is arguably one of his best works yet: the NOCTA Glide.
The Nike NOCTA Glide is heavily informed by early era basketball shoes, closely referencing the design of the Zoom Flight 95. And in addition to incorporating many of the same materials — carbon fiber, most notably — the pair boasts a “bug-eyed” sole near identical to that of the aforementioned sneaker. Even the colorway itself appears to be borrowed, proffering a neutral-dominant look reminiscent of its inspiration’s “Black Metallic” style.
